Thinking of Membership?
DO YOU WISH TO JOIN OUR CHURCH AS A MEMBER?
During the 10:30 worship services on Sunday, June 15, 2008, there will be a ceremony in which we will receive new members. Newcomers who have been attending for a while, who have attended our Introduction to Unitarian Universalism series, and have considered joining us as members, along with those who have moved here from another UU church, are particularly invited to join during the worship service that Sunday.
Joining the church implies an obligation, freely accepted, to work with us and share with us through all the joys and sorrows of life. Our covenant with each other is stated in the "Purposes" section of the by-laws of this church.
Our interim minister, the Rev. Pam Allen-Thompson (minister@ucnorfolk.org), and our Membership Orientation coordinator, Will Frank, would be glad to talk with you about the meaning of membership in this church. Please contact either of them or inform Ruth Fox in the office (627-5371 or office@ucnorfolk.org) if you are considering joining at this time. Those joining will meet in the social hall 20 minutes before the service during which one is planning to join to go over procedures and to fill out new member forms.
